How To Check Furniture Quality Before You Buy?

Today so many options available both at stores and online, finding the right furniture for your home is not as tough as it used to be years ago. Yet many of us end up buying low-quality furniture that doesn’t even last more than a year. If you are also looking to buy the same, you likely want to purchase something that doesn’t break for at least a decade.

So, here’s a list of factors you should consider to check the quality of your furniture: -

1.  Modern: - Modern furniture refers to furniture produced from the late 19th century through the present that is influenced by modernism. These days modern furniture is made of plywood at least nine layers thick.

2.  Durability: - Although most furniture testing for durability and performance is entirely voluntary in many markets, it allows manufacturers/distributors to have third-party validation of their brand. Durability testing evaluates how well a product holds up when put to the test beyond its expected or designated function. Make sure the furniture you buy must have durability test cleared.

3.  Well-Crafted: - Touch all the surfaces to ensure they are smooth and free from any irregularities. If the wood is laminated, don’t forget to check the edges and layers for any scratch.

4.  Scientifically Designed: - Every piece of furniture should be scientifically designed. For example check the springs of a mattress by removing the pillows and pushing down the coils. It should rise immediately. The back support and arm rest of a chair should be in perfect angle to sit and enjoy.

5.  Comfort: - The furniture mustn’t wobble when you put weight on it. Check the stability/comfort by examining whether the wooden article aligns with the floor. Fabric, leather or plywood should be of good quality and should provide perfect comfort to your body.

6.  Style: - Neutral palette always remains in style, but you can take it up a notch by mixing it with textured fabrics and patterns matching according to your home colours.
